March to June: The best time to visit Bir is definitely during summers. March to June is also the ideal time to paraglide, an activity must try in Bir Biling.

October to February: The months of December to February cover the mountains surrounding the little town of Bir with dazzling white snow. Winter is definitely one of the best times to visit Bir. However, it is not advisable to visit Bir Biling during the monsoon.

The closest airport, Kangra Airport, is located 67.6 kms away from Bir. One can take a cab/bus ride at a reasonable cost from here. Other airports located near Bir are Amritsar (266 kms), Chandigarh (260kms) and New Delhi (506 kms).

The nearest major railhead to Bir is Pathankot which is located approximately 110kms away from the town of Bir. The nearest narrow-gauge station is in Anju, barely 3-4 kms from Bir. Toy trains from Pathankot to Anju are another popular route to travel in between.

Regular bus services cater to the town of Bir from Shimla, Dharamshala, Chandigarh and Delhi among others. One can take shared cabs from the same routes.
