August signifies the beginning of monsoon season in Agra, making it an ideal time to see the Taj Mahal in all its rain-washed glory.

The Kheria airport in Agra also serves as a military base. It's a seasonal commercial airport with only Air India flights from New Delhi. Agra's Kheria airport is 13 kilometers away from the city. To get to the city, take a taxi/ bus from the airport, which should take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.

By Train

Regular trains run to Agra from Delhi, Jaipur, Gwalior and Jhansi. It is also well connected to other cities throughout the country including Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai. Agra has five railway stations: Agra Cantt. Station (the main station), Agra Fort Railway Station, Raja ki Mandi Railway Station, Agra City Railway Station and Idgah Railway Station.

By Bus

Regular buses connect Agra to cities such as Delhi, Jaipur, Gwalior, Lucknow and Kanpur. Agra has two major interstate bus terminals: Idgah Bus Stand (located in the city centre and 8 kilometres from the Taj Mahal) and ISBT (which is located at a distance of 12 kilometres from the Taj Mahal).
